Liberty Imaging, Inc. (LII) an early-stage startup, initially funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), is in the process of commercializing digital video cameras that incorporate innovative Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor-Active Pixel Sensors (CMOS-APS).
In funding the effort, DARPA's broader strategy was to promote the convergence of information and video media by investing in the development of advanced technology for digital video cameras, flat panel displays, and storage systems that would be compatible with computers and their networks. The economic benefit to the DoD is lower-cost imaging equipment from the commercialization of these innovations and more efficient use of the nation's digital infrastructure.
Liberty will capitalize on DoD’s investment to develop affordable video technology by the commercialization of our unique CMOS-APS camera design. Known as the LIBERATOR™, the camera makes possible superior digital imaging for Entertainment, Medical, Surveillance, and a host of other applications.
This website will offer a unique marketing channel because computer displays are progressive scan. Using a variety of methods, Liberty Imaging Inc. will WebCast video presentations that demonstrate the superior attributes of progressive versus interlace video.
